Extreme Race

Well I loaded my Extreme Race tune today and drove around town with it to see how it is. I think I found my new DD tune. Pulls really hard with very little gas which is nice. The motor is a lot quiter now then stock which is nice going through bank or anything. It takes a little but of driving to get used to it in town but it really isnt that bad.

When the weather's warm Xrace is my daily driver tune as well. Only thing to get used to is sometimes when I ease up to highway speed I have to let off the throttle and then ease back in to it to get the trans to drop in to OD. The longer you leave the tune in the more time the trans will have to learn your driving style.

My trans. does the same thing. That's the only thing I don't like about that tune.

Extreme race is my dd tune as well, and I tow a large dump trailer 5 days out of the week too! Definitely a quieter driving tune if you need it to be, but the loudest one when i want it to be according to my friends and family. Its awesome and has done amazing for many miles but I recently blew my trans, beyond a rebuilding option into the "I need to buy a new one" category. Shredded metal everywhere in the fluid, horrible noises, out of the blue under normal driving conditions with no trailer that left me on the side of the road. Still the best tune I've ever used though and I don't plan on switching now that the trans is more than upgraded....

I like the extreme race but i prefer the extreme street. IMHO the truck sounds better winding out rather than loading up with the converter locked. Eric says the race is about .2 or .3 faster in the 1/4 mile but i ran them back to back and ran the same exact time. I told him this and he looked at my race tune and added fuel and timing. The truck feels faster for sure but I havent had a chance to try it at the track.
