First off, I want to let you know that I know that SCT w/ custom tunes is the BEST. That is what I have on my 6.0 with Eric's tunes.

But, my neighbor got a Diablo predator for free and he just wants to use it on his 2004 6.0 for mileage gains...

He will not be racing. It will only be a escort vehicle for his trucking company.
What do you guys think about him putting one one his rig?

As long as he understands that the tranny will be put at risk of premature failure. I do not believe diablo's do anything tuning wise with the transmissions.

People will hate me for this but, as long as the truck is not driven like a stock car it will be fine. Just do the once in a while wot run to work the turbo vanes and keep up on maintenance and it should be ok.

He could sell the diablo and get a used sct x3 with custom tunes if he felt like spending a little money. That would be the best way to go.

You should be fine if you watch your foot......I would be more worried about the HG than the trans when a predator is concerned
