semi truck u-joints

Tried the ole search and came up empty on this one.

Has anyone tried running semi truck u-joints? Mine are getting some pretty bad play in them and are due for replacement. I understand the extense of fab work needing to be done, but I would like for the tires to be the weak link in the drivetrain.

Just thought this would be a viable option as I haven't seen any extreme severe duty u-joints.

I have been in the honeymoon phase of a new compound setup and have been doing quite a few violent launches in 4wd(15 psi to 18psi) and general acting stupid at 3 am on a few deserted backroads, just to put the turbos and tranny to the test.so the joints haven't been treated very well

My wife and I done everything except plumb the tubing and tune it. And yeah it's a ton of money. My wife's '10 running the 310 tune can't keep up, and that's a plus.I'll try and get a video up this weekend.

I cant really help you on who would make a stronger u-joint but as someone that deals with semi trucks the fab work involved to run semi u-joints would be crazy.

I really want to do something to make the 35/13.50/20 toyo mt's on 20'' novakanes I have ordered be the weak link in the driveline. Plus, seeing people freak out when 4 tires go up in smoke is cool. Just not on the checking account.

Thanks to my wife working herself into the ground a couple years ago and paying off all our loans. Everything in the sig was possible. she lucked up getting 90 hrs a week during the recession and we lived off my pitiful checks at the time, meaning we were paying debt off hand over fist. It sucked living like we made $17 an hour combined for 2 years but it payed off now.

I payed for all my stuff with cash and had been saving up for quite some time to make all this possible. And all you guys having cool toys didn't help either. My wife saved up and payed all but $5k on her truck cash.
