ported heads and injectors
I am going to do some work to the truck in the next week or two. I am doing a airdog 2 and ported heads and 190cc injectors with 75% nozzles also a powermax turbo. What can I expect.
I already have studs and exhaust EGR delete and all that is in my sig. Last edited by jimmyz32; 11-20-2011 at 10:04 AM. |

I am having the heads done. I will do the easy stuff myself. I for got I am doing a FS2500 bypass filter also.

I wouldnt do the fs2500. I had it and it was ok but there are better options out there.

Nice! After the build make sure you post up a dyno sheet.

yup. NUC motorsports has oil bypass parts. I found the oil filter mount on ebay for $20.

I would love to see the difference with the heads done by them selves before or after the 190cc injectors so we can see the difference. |

Yah i'm doing it all at once. I don't have to do this one at a time. Heads, injectors at least will be done at once. The airdog 2 and powermax will be done before it goes in for the head work.

Your intake manifold is not going to let you reach the full potential of ported heads. That is where the restriction is.

He is kind of right. I would look into a performance ported intake manifold like the one from gogo diesel, but I also understand that if you are doing head work to just do it now because you can change the manifold a whole lot easier than pulling the heads and doing everything again. The question though has to be, what are your goals for the truck? Hp? Towing? Sled pulling? Etc. Once you get those ideas narrowed down then you can design your build around your goals. For instance, you can make over 600Hp on fuel without porting your heads and would probably see a larger gain in performance from a ported intake manifold than you would through porting your heads. (This is purely conjecture on my part as I have not ran any ported heads but I would research it A LOT more before I spent the coin to do it. Go to either PSN or PSA and ask about it. JMO and tryin to save a fellow enthusiast from spending unnecessary coins that could be used for better things.)
