Edge Update Good or Bad?

I was changing my tune today on my Edge Evolution and at the end of the update it said that I had a missing file and need to update the programmer. Has anyone used this new update should I steer away from using it, does it have any flaws with the new update I should know about? I have been procrastinating about getting an SCT but depending on if this update is good or bad or just plain out still doesn't work looks like I'm getting the SCT sooner than I thought. For when I do have to get one where should I get it from and where do I get a tune from Matt or Vivian from? When I buy it I think I've read the first few tunes or so are free any truth there? Also if I get an SCT can I still use my Edge Evolution soley as a monitor not a programmer or would the use of the SCT clash with the Edge? If I could get some help that would be awesome I just got off work and will be asleep most of the day so hopefully that gives enough time before I plug this thing back in to get some good replies. Thanks.
