Towing with SCT

In a couple weekends I am planning to load our two Jeeps on the gooseneck and pull them a couple hours away for the weekend. I haven't pulled the gooseneck since I put injectors and studs in my truck. My question is, will it hurt anything to run the canned SCT towing tune with my 155cc injectors? I'm sure I could get more performance from a custom tow tune, but I just don't pull our big trailer enough to justify it. Unless of course its bad on the injectors to run the canned tune.

I have a similar setup to your truck (stock injectors though) and I tow 2 skid steers on a gooseneck (20k+) on my "extreme" tune. EGTs stay in the right range. I'm not sure how much hotter yours will be with the extra fuel but I would imagine you'd be fine.

Most people on here seem to be able to tow on their most aggressive tune without problems.

Will it hurt the injectors, probably not. Will the canned tune do something else more serious than hurting an injector because of your bigger injectors??? Doesn't sound like anyone knows for sure. But aren't custom tunes between $50-$60? Seems like cheap insurance considering you put out all that coin for injectors, studs, exhaust & egr delete.

I can't see it hurting an injector, but I would keep a close eye on my EGT's and make sure they're good. If you were going to hurt anything it would be your turbo or heads due to high EGT's. I don't see any gauge setup in your sig but surely someone who's put that much in there truck has an EGT gauge, right?

You are not going to hurt anything. 155's are not that much bigger than stock. 155's are made for towing. I would say you could use that canned tow tune or even just tow with the stock tune just watch your EGT's

DO NOT TOW ON A TUNE WITHOUT AN EGT GAUGE! You'll get it too hot and damage the turbo, heads, headgaskets, oil cooler and/or cooling system. Blow the coin on gauges, then a custom tow tune. After that you can pull to your little hearts content. For now just set it back to stock and go easy on her.

Thanks For the replies guys. I do have an EGT gauge and I always keep an eye on it when towing anything. I usually leave it on the looney when pulling the boat, but this load is heavy. The gooseneck weighs 4600 by itself, and both jeeps have 1 ton axles and 40s so they are probably 5k a piece.
