Smoking when cold with tunes SCT from Innovative but not stock

I have a 2005 f350 crew cab. I have tunes innovative on a SCT. When I start it with the tunes I get a ton on blue smoke and rough running for about 5 mins. When returned to stock I get a small puff of smoke on start up but it does not run rough. I have add two bottles of RevX to see if it would help, and it hasn’t. Is the turner showing me that something is going bad like an injector or is just the tune making it smoke? How do I check if it is an injector?

sounds like its runnin way to much ICP pressure at the start but then again if it does it slightly at the start you might have a bad injector. email eric and tell him what its doing exactly and he will be able to adjust the tune

If you're running a street or race file that's normal in cold weather. The blue/white smoke I mean. Is your FICM tuned too? After I reflashed my FICM with Eric's mild flash I lost my inductive heating and cold starts were a pain till the truck got some heat built up. I would email Eric and attach a copy of the file you're having issues with and ask him about it. Be sure to be as descriptive as possible about what you experience. He can tailor the tune to your liking most likely.

Iam having the same problem. Iam running IDP tow tune. First thing in the morning she smokes blue pretty good and has a noticable skip, until oil temp is up in the 180's. If I bring the rpms up to about 1200 she will smoke heavily and then the skip clears up and the smoke goes away. Let it go back to idle and the skip comes back and so does the blue smoke. I was going to change the oil saturday and add some revx hoping it would help. After reading the OP, now I am skeptical.

im gonna try matts srl tunes ive heard nothing but good about his tunes, and i run 2 bottles of rev x on every oil change and it only does it when its cold id say lower than 50 and the colder it get the worse it gets, ive smoked out my neighbors house plenty of times when it was 0 or minus temps and it smells like raw fuel to me, i also use rev x fuel additive for extra precaution...

Went through this last year, and he told me nothing he could do something was going bad...I'm not bad mouthing him maybe I did have issues but at stock there were no problems and running the Hybrid Race tune same weather no smoke so to me it was a tune issue but I'm happy with the free Hybrid Race tune and it runs flawlessly for me so I just use that unless I'm towing than I run Eric's Tow tune Awesome company and he tried helping me in the middle of the night so no bashing from me just what happened to me and my solution.
