does any of the custom tune writers out there have a tune that will make our trucks pass emissions in arizona?

I don't know what the emissions in Arizona are but the only one I have that would pass in California is my tow tune from Matt. It uses stock fueling parameters and is basically a trans tune. None of my other tunes will pass the snap test in California.

I'm told Az and Ca emmisions are the same... Are you mostly stock? Cause I'm not.

Yeah only exhaust and a tune, stock sticks and turbo.

In california they hook the computer to the truck. Doesn't the computer know that the tuning isn't factory? Tuning it with a tow tune and turning the EGR off would be great, because then an EGR delete is possible without throwing the code

Not on the later years. My 07 is CAN so their machines can't read it. And either way the OBD just checks for Trouble Codes they have no way of knowing the tune is not factory. It is like hooking up a scan tool that is it.

i dont have my emmision parts anymore( egr,cat), and i have 155 inj, plus a laundry list of other mods, and my truck smokes alot when you get on it. i heard they have a wot test(no way my truck will pass that). i was just hoping that innivative or someone had a tune that could change the way my truck runs for the time its going through the test.

Do you have tunes now? Matt at Gearhead might be able to help you out, they specialize in no smoke/low smoke tunes. My SRL hardly smokes at all except for the snap test. The tunes really need the boost up to not smoke.

hi all, i try to translate this thing to your languge as acuarate i can.

about emission measurement to diesel engines in our country there is one main thing what they look. and it's call K-value.

that is done with a aproved smoke tester what inspection stations have. or autogarages who have bought one and have license to do measurements. like our and many other garages have.
to say it simple it test how thick is the smoke what comes out to tail pipe.
when you are stationary and slam the pedal to the floor for some perioid of time ( the tesetr say when to let off) it sounds raw and sometimes it is just that...sounds awfull.

max limits:
-diesel engine 2,5
-turbocharged diesel engine 3,0
-after -06 manufactered diesel engines 1,5
(euro4 and 5)

so my -03 Excursion 6.0 PS max limit is 3,0

my mods from the stock:
arp studs,58V FIMC,6.4l banjos,blue spring,egr-delete,sct/srl+ and cat delete.
you could think that it is impossible to pass that test with this truck cause of all TDI engines have same max limit if its 1L or 10L engine...

i was pretty glad when test passed with value of 0,25

what is low as it can!

so i think my truck have pretty right working and clean diesel engie.

in our country diesels wount need obd report to pass emission inspections.
