High egts
Hey guys I have an 05' F350 6.0. It curently has Edge CTS evalution programmer, egr delete, 4inch SP, and stock intake. When on the on the highest setting which is level 4 I can get it to alarm out faily quickly under full throttle conditions from a dead stop. I was wondering if I got tunes from eric at innovative diesel if i would have anymore problems with high egts.
Thanks |

Matt's slr tune runs a lot cooler then innovatives tune for me. A lot less smoke, better mileage,Awsome shifting and a insane amount of power.

Nature of the beast, run hotter tunes and EGT's will climb faster. More fuel+more power= higher EGT.
Now if you have a failed IC boot or cracked up-pipe/y-pipe, then the EGT's will climb fast also. |

Yes that is one of the downfalls of running hot tunes. What kind of egt's are you seeing? And what's your alarm set at. Mine is set at 1050

1050 is really low imo, for an alarm. Mine is set for 1200. I mean the only time i see above that is racing, and you might as well cover up the pyro because your not gunna let off anyway. I see 1500 racing, for short runs its not going to hurt much. I really dont tow enough weight to worry about egts towing though.

1100? i used to be able to peg 1500 on stock injectors...

Ya I can just about hit 1500 too with the SRL at WOT. We'll see how she does tomorrow when I slap on a Pmax and batmowheel

It dont take long at all to hit 1500, my alarm is set at 1250, it isnt too hard to hit that while pulling the 5er or WOT runs. hell, just cruising down the highway at 75 I am seeing 800...

I can pull well over 1600* with stock turbo/injectors at WOT, a hot tune and a tuned FICM. Before the FICM I might see 1500* for a second or two then the temp would back down naturally while still accelerating. Doesn't de-fuel anymore with the FICM.
I tried a 62/70 industrial non vgt for a while and couldn't get more than 1250-1300* out of it, but normal driving sucked. A powermax is in my future, not sure if I'll ever go larger than stock injectors anymore... |
