Welcome to the Org!!
The first thing that should be done is a monitor solution of some type, there are thing on the motor that need to be checked prior to adding a tuner. You need to find out the health of the motor before tuning to prevent costly repair bill.
This link will outline the basic reading your gonna want to know.
Things to consider about owning a 6.0L
You have several options for monitoring the engine. Old school analog gauges, Edge Insight CS/CTS, or ScangaugeII are the popular choice.
Analog gauges can get expensive if you want to monitor some of the basic stuff like, ECT, EOT, fuel psi, TFT, EGT, and boost. Analog gauges wont give you the ability to read and clear trouble codes or let you read cycle duty and sensor volts like the ScangaugeII or Edge Insight CS/CTS.
The ScangaugeII is a basic monitor that lets you read monitor everything except fuel psi and EGT.
If you like a fancy monitor that will let you do everything, then the Edge Insight CS/CTS is the way to go.
For programmers, most prefer the SCT with custom tunes. Why? Because its not as hard on the motor or trans as the "one size fits all" programmers.
If you want an all in one package you have the SCT Livewire and SCT touch screen xtreme. That is a tuner and monitor, but there are some parameters that these won't monitor and the Edge Insight will.
Most 6.0 owners prefer the SCT X-3 with custom tunes for a programmer and a Edge Insight CS/CTS as a monitor.
Then there is also another all in one option. The PHP Gryphon with custom tunes.
