Is a Superchip 1855 OK for a F250 6.0L?
Hey everyone,
I know that a SCT comes highly recommended for a 6.0L but I have an easy opprotunity to trade my Bullydog for a Supoerchip Flashpaq 1855. Are these known to cause any problems on the 6.0L? Mine is mostly stock..... |

I ran a Superchip flashpaq on my truck for almost a year with zero problems. I kept it on Performance all the time, except when pulling my gooseneck. I would say that the Superchip would be a better tune than the Bullydog based on the fact that one of my friends had the Bullydog and my truck would flat run off on his. Both trucks was crew cabs on 35s. My truck was bone stock except exhaust. I say do it!

Thank you dirty_stroke. So even if I haven't modified my heads or head bolts or modified much at all (unlike your truck) you think it'll be OK?

i ran mine with that tuner for a while with no problems.. although i have a sct tuner now and i feel like its more power and better shifting, but with that said if you can trade a bully dog for it i say go it...
but for the studs there is no guarentee considering these trucks stretch stock head bolts so no way to tell that you could run 100,000 miles problem free or run 5 miles and they blow its a gamble... like the saying you pay to play. |

Yes even with stock headbolts, I think you will be fine. Although there is no guarantee! All my truck had was 4 inch exhaust and everything else was stock except the Superchip. I took it to drag strips pretty regular and drove it hard on Performance with no problems. I worked at a truck accessory shop for a few years and put the Superchip on alot of 6.0's with no problems.
