You don't need an aftermarket intake on these. Do an exhaust and get an SCT X3 or SF3 and get it custom tuned. Biggest thing being able to monitor your engine data and temps, so get gauges. There's a ton of info on here about all that stuff. Go and do a little bit of research. I would delete the EGR before tuning as well.

agree with above....
i would go with this tuner setup:SCT X3 Custom Innovative Diesel Tuning/ Edge CTS combo and this exhaust MBRP Performance Series Aluminized Turbo Back - Single Exhaust S6212PLM (No Muffler) |

Get a monitor first, you need to check the health of the motor, prior to spending money on the fun stuff. Fix the issues, then start add in the performance, if you choose to ignore the issues, you'll be sorry!!
Here is some reading material. Things to consider about owning a 6.0L |

Well, Here's the deal.. you say its got 47k miles..and a brand new EGR cooler... Meaning the Egr cooler has failed... Did the dealer do the work on replacing the EGR cooler?? Do you know if the Oil Cooler Was replaced at the same time??
If the Oil Cooler was not replaced, your going to have the same problem not too long down the line, because the oil cooler is the Root of the problems... Before you spend money on exhaust and a tune.. I would definitely buy a Edge Insight, CTS or CS your choice on if you want to spend the extra $100 for the touch screen.. I did, and i love it... Once you can monitor your Delta's... which im going to assume are going to be +15 because of your oil cooler possibly not being replaced... then you can go from there... If you've got a reasonable delta.. Then go for the exhaust, then the tune In that order IMO... You don't need Intake's on these trucks... but to each his own.. I have an Airraid on my truck, and I love it.. I like the sound of the intakes... But to Answer your Question of the title.. Should you be worried:: My Answer, Would be Yes, you should be worried, until you find out if your Oil cooler was replaced...and what your delta is after a monitoring system is installed. |

The oil cooler should have been replace too, if not, your new EGR cooler is not destined to be in this world long. And don't do this anymore with your truck white smoke at 6000 rpm in park.
