Recomendations ? -Tuner/Gauge
In the market to get Gauges to read EOT / ECT / EGT . But I would like to have the capability to tune as well. I.E More H/P, better Fuel Economy, capability of turning off the EGR valve if needed.
So many out there to choose from but do you fellas have any recomendations for user friendly / all in one package ? I have read the SCT livewire was having trouble reading certain EOT/ECT's, and have heard the EDGE w/ juice wasnt providing enough power ( H/P gain ) on its tunes ? Any thoughts on these ? Many thanks as always |

Use the search bar on the SCT tuner and innovative diesel IDP, quick tricks automotive, and gear head for tuning.
I use the Edge insight and im happy with it for gauges. if you want an all in one programer do not get a system that has shift on the fly. |

Go with a SCT with custom tunes. Take it from the folks who have been there and tried out the other substandard tuners. The reason why everyone likes SCTs with custom tunes is because you can tune the transmission as well as have all of the other options you want. The Edge Insight CTS is a GREAT monitor. It monitors more parameters than any other monitor out there and can be expanded to monitor just about any temp or pressure you want. I can honestly say that the Edge Insight CTS has been one of the best upgrades to my truck.

this is what i recommend SCT X3 Custom Innovative Diesel Tuning/ Edge CTS combo

Tha is a good combo. Just make sure you get an expandable EGT probe and not the non-expandable one so you can add other sensors down the road like fuel & oil psi, various temps, etc.

Say what you will about the SCT Livewire, but I love mine. When I was in the OP's shoes I ordered the Livewire from Innovative w/ 3tunes. I built a dash mount for mine because the mounts that SCT offered just didn't suit me. After I got the HP bug from the Innovative tunes, I ordered the Lonney from Vivian at quick Tricks. WOW, the amount of power these trucks have locked up is amazing. Then I upgraded to the 58V FICM from Quick Tricks and Vivians Looney Wild tune. I could not be happier with my truck. My Livewire stays mounted in my truck at all times and everytime the truck runs I'm using it to monitor EOT, ECT, RPM, EGT and voltage. Never had an issue at all. The only thing I would change is the size of the Livewire. Its bulky, but it does everything I could want. SCT does have a new touch screen programmer, but its around $850 and that was just out of my price range.

The thing that IMO sets the CTS apart from the rest of the competition is that it can be expanded to monitor whatever you want besides just EGTs and you are not required to buy any other gauges like fuel pressure or anything else. Not saying that the livewire or other monitors are junk but that they are just not what I wanted and everything I want to monitor can be had with the CTS and that is it and I dont have my cab full of gauges. In all reality it comes down to personal preference and whatever you want to buy and are content with is all that matters. Just my $.02
