Bigger injectors

I put a larger turbo on my truck (in sig.) started with a 64mm VGT and had a lot of trouble getting it to spool, so the company I bought it from let me exchange it for a 62mm unit. It spools better but its still noticeably more lagging than the factory turbo, I was told to put bigger injectors in it somewhere around 175 to 190cc units. I am running Erics Extreme street tune with stock injectors. I can't see though how bigger injectors will help, because even now until the turbo spools I can almost smoke out a two lane road. Once it lights up it runs great. I just need someone to explain to me how bigger injectors will help, when I seem to have plenty of fuel already, because thats really all bigger injectors are gonna get me, seems to me that all they would do is make it smoke more.

Yhea, what they said^^^^

I've got the II stage 1 VGT 62mm, had to have my tunes tweaked to get better spool up.

Matt @ Gearhead sent me a SRL++ tune written for II stage1, but I couldn't get the boost up above 28psi and was laggy off the line. So he sent me a SRL++ written for a Powermax, less lag and boost hits 32-33.

Yup you need injectors. Thats why it spools slow. You are pushing fuel. Just not enough.

Is the 62mm turbo a vgt or non vgt unit?

Im guessing its a non vgt 62/70

Its a stage 1 62mm vgt. I can hit 30 pounds of boost under full load, it is smoke free when running like that. What would be the best size of injectors for towing and daily driving with this turbo? Also right now under full load running almost full boost I can hit almost 1400 degrees on my egt gauge.

How's your fuel psi?

I can hit 1500-1600 EGT with my tunes.

yea 155cc would be perfect if you ask me! i also can hit 1500-1600 with my stock sticks but with that turbo and your combo if you get injectors i dont see where they would go much higher unless you tow in a race tune. might wanna try matt at gearhead and see what his tunes do. might be cheaper than buying injectors. worst comes to worse you have tunes from 2 great tuners
