Can you tell if you already have studs?

I bought an 07 F250 earlier this year and it has about every accessory or upgrade you can think of installed in the body. I was thinking about doing studs/head gaskets before digging in to the turbo.and trans..etc but I dont want to drop big bucks only to find out it was already done. Is there any way you can tell if that stuff was already done? Can I pull off the head covers or something to look?

Same here, I bought my truck and the previous owner had already done Studs and an EGR delete. I know this because of a receipt he provided me with a reputable shop in Houston, TX - the receipt also had the correct VIN on it, but I would also like to know if there's a way to visually inspect the studs...

Yes, the tops of the studs are actually nuts, not bolts. Just look next to the valve cover and if there are bolt heads, then it is not studded. If they are nuts and the bolt has a torx head, then it is studded. I'll try to find a pic, hang on...

Just look where the head meets the block if you see a stud then it's studded. If all you see is a bolt then you know it hasn't been done. There's a could places its kinda easy to see. Like the front of the motor on the driver side.
