how to monitor this truck

i'm going to be looking....finally....into getting some kind of way to monitor key parts of my truck. I know gauges are around the same as a screen cost wise. Which way can I monitor more for the best money. from what I see is the edge and others seem like they only monitor say around 3 things. what is they best and cheapest way to monitor more....or the most things. Thanks for all information in advance.

the edge insight is the best setup for your money IMO

The edge insight can monitor up to 8 different parameters. On the analog screen, the one with the "sweep gauges", I want to say can display 5 parameters 3 with the bar graphs that "sweep" and one in each lower corner.

Go with an Edge Insight CTS or CS. They are around $330 and buy the EAs starter kit with expandable EGT probe and also get the fuel pressure kit. you will have about $600 in the system but it will help and you will be able to monitor just about EVERYTHING. IMO...

Kind of here but thats definitely the way to go here Insight CS or CTS with pyrometer and fuel pressure EAS.

Sounds like it ...I have a egt probe already that I monitor so I don't need to buy one do I. Didn't know you could monitor up to 8be things but now I do....another thing is why is there the option to select power levels when all your doing is monitoring?

I've wondered this myself. Seems like they could use that spot to monitor a 9th parameter rather than a non functional power level thing right there.

Rual whats the difference between the egt expandable or egt non-expandable? and the dash bod and adapter is that the one that goes on the window?

Expandable allows you to plug, or piggyback, more EAS components in to monitor other things, like a second boost reading, fuel press reading, second EGT reading, ect. Non expandable probe does not allow this.

Also the CTS has the capability of monitoring alot more than 8 parameters, BUT, only 8 can be displayed at a single time. Also can be used to read DTCs, test performance, and speedometer calibrations (haven't figured that feature out yet)

Edge CS or CTS deffinatly better investment for these rigs than analog guages.
