I have new tunes.(IDP-tow,race,street, Gearhead-SRL+,8K tow, unlimited tow)
I have brand new tunes from Matt and Eric. I have three tunes from each written for the powermax. I have not towed with Matt's tune yet though. The hotter temp were in Eric's tow tune. I also told them about the bigger tires/stock gears and everything else. I've worked with these guys before on tunes. I also know with Matt's tune he tells you to set the revs per mile which I have done.
I will say running the SRL+ was not as laggy as the X-race tune. So I'll have to try towing with Matt's unlimited tow tune and check the temps.
If I was not in tow haul in the tow tune my truck would shift into over drive and it would get real laggy and high EGT temps unless I got it up to about 75. If it stayed in 4th gear though I didn't have any problems with temps(1,000 Degrees or so) just high revs/poor economy.
My guess on the trailer weight would be about 5K total. 18ft road warrior and a 77 k5 reg cab flat bed.
