Question To stud or not to stud?

Just to let everyone know I'm gonna stud my truck at some point just not sure when. I don't have a a SCT yet but am getting one. I have all the gauges I need and my temps look good. Also got the EGR out so that's not an issue. I just wondering if I get tunes first and wait for the heads to blow first or go ahead and save the money for the studs and do that first.

I'd run the tunes until she starts to lose coolant. While you're driving it, save for the studs. The headgaskets don't fail catastrophically when they go (generally speaking), you just lose some coolant (puking) out the degas bottle.

I am going to wait for my headgaskets to leak before I stud mine. I have been running a tuner the last 10k and no problems yet. Sweet pulling tractor.

Unless somebody else is paying for it hold off on the studs. With an EGR delete and a good oil cooler there is no reason for a good tune to blow head gaskets. I ran my tunes for 34k before studding my truck under warranty, just before it ran out.

I'd say since you know about the issue wait until it goes, if you don't race at every light or try to pull 10000 a performance tune you may never need to get them fixed
