SCT Tune build

Who can build a tune for an SCT Tuner? I have a Livewire on the way to my house, and I would like to have a custom tune build for it to have when I return stateside. Is there anyone on here that does this?

The custom tune writer is gonna need some info from you. Your truck mods, the SCT device serial number, and the trucks strategy. Once they have this info, they will email you your tunes.

If you buy a used sct that has custom tunes loaded can you safetly load those into a truck with a different strategy?

Sometimes, depends on the year truck. The '03-'04 trucks use a different strategy base for tunes, and won't work in the '05-'07 trucks and vise versa.

Even then, the tunes might not work on a different strategy truck or work to there full potential. The seller also might have more or less mods than the buyer. Some tune writers prefer to use a different strategy that you have, because that particular strategy runs better.

It's not like the custom tunes are that expensive, just buy custom tunes for your truck mods and strategy, this way if you don't like something about the tune, have the tune writer set it up the way you like it. That's the beauty of custom tunes.

I planned on having one made for me. I am wanting the looney though and it already has a looney tune on there so if i could use that and spend my money on the srl that's what I was going to do. I guess I will just have another looney made for my truck and get the srl when I save some more money.

I've seen custom tunes from different strategy trucks completely lock other trucks...Meaning it wouldn't start and it had difficulties returning to stock. I wouldn't chance it unless you know the strategy and build year of the truck. Or know what Flash is currently on the truck. $100 and you have 3 tunes from Matt @ Gearhead.
