Intake

Hey, probably a stupid question but I got a 2005 6.0, just had a EGR delete and new oil cooler put in, have a 4 inch straight piped exhaust, is it worth it to get a performance air intake or is it better to stick with the stock one? Thanks

Your truck already has a better cold air intake on it. Those "cold air" intakes take their air supply from under the hood. I assure you that is not COLD air.
Do a search on here for the "zoodad" mod. It will cost you nothing but some of your time and will actually add COLD air into the stock air intake.

Sweet!! thank you very much!!! also don't know if yall know but I am looking into getting a edge juice with attitude with the CTS module.... is it safe to run levels 4 and 5 the way my truck is now or should I upgrade the tranny and lift pump first?

Stick with an Edge Insight CTS for monitoring and SCT with custom tunes for power. Your transmission will thank you.

zoodad mod
Found a link for you.
The absolute BEST tuner out there for this engine is the SCT. There are a few models that are good, but basically any of them that you can load a custom written tune onto is what you want. I just picked up a barely used SCT X3 (that has room for 3 custom tunes) for 200 bucks. Custom written tunes are better for your truck, since they can be custom tailored to what mods you have on your truck. The custom tunes run about 50-75 bucks each. They are also a heck of a lot safer for your transmission and can be safely run with and without head studs.

If you are new to the 6.0, read the link in my signature line "basic info" for what you need to add to your truck long before a tuner.

I like though how the Edge has those safety features in it, also if I were to go the rout of a SCT who makes some good tunes?

Thanks for the link!!! I read that intro to 6.0, I had a EGR and oil cooler go on me shortly after buying my truck and just had the EGR delete done and a river city oil cooler put in, has a 4in turbo back straight piped, everything else looked good under the hood.
