CAI for 500+ HP

I know the stock air filter is good for up to 500 horse, what intake is good beyond that?

I want to buy a new cold air intake, because I hate removing the stock one when working on my truck, and I hope to be beyond 500 Hp by July .

I just want to be sure that I am not wasting money. Thanks in Advance!

I like the AFE stage 2 w/ pro guard 7 filter. That's what I have.

S&B and AirRaid are good choices too. Shop around and get what fits your wallet. I would also say stay away from K&N. Don't know if they've gotten any better in recent years but they used to have problems in turbo charged applications.

I would agree with Kurt. While the S&B was pretty good, I was cleaning it pretty often. In the end, go with the AFE that Kurt mentioned since that is what most of the high HP folks are running.

Yep AFE or S&B would be my choices. I also would stay with a dry filter if you can. JMO

I forgot that I would look for something that had a sealed container around the filter to keep the engine heat out. Hope this helps.

Take a look at AFE Stage 2 Mega Cannon for the 6.0L it replaces the battery box and uses a much larger filter than any other kit on the market. Its available in a dry or oiled filter.
