Why does this make no sense to me?
Ok me and a bunch of buddies went down to our local drag strip tonight for test and tune. It is an 1/8 mile track i was running my setup in my sig with Vivians looney tune. these are my times
10.041 @ 65.49 mph 10.322@ 65.30 mph And then i switched to my canned performance tune with the SCT 9.764 @ 67.98 mph 9.787 @ 66.96 mph Now why is my canned tune running faster? |

whats the 60'and 330' times? You could be spinning.

I don't know much about Vivian's tunes... but the canned SCT tunes don't really take the longevity of your vehicle's lifespan into consideration, let alone the transmission. Matt's tune - tunes everything.
But yes, that is an interesting question. Maybe the true Diesel Gearheads here will soon chime in and explain things better. Vivian's tunes may run the 1/4 faster. Better top end maybe

Ok i dont think im spinning im in 4-wheel drive. i dont have my sheets with me right now. But on Vivians tune it feels like it loses fuel up top because i get going hard and then its like it just runs out and the tone of my truck it loses that 6.0 crackle. With the canned tune it never falls off and the crackle stays on. and all my times are better all the way through 60ft and everything with the canned!

That is because the Looney tune is designed for highway use and optimized for passing on the interstate. Her street tune is designed for low end stop light to stop light performance and city driving. Maybe you should try them both on a 1/4 mile or switch tunes for the 1/8th mile. The above is if my memory serves me correctly.

I would like to get ahold of her though because it makes no since that it would do better in the 1/4 if it feels that it is loosing fuel.

She also makes a track file too.

Yea im not too worried about it i would like to get a little quicker custom tune just for the fact that custom has to be safer.

hmm. my truck feels the same way too. i have matt's slr tune on my truck and it almost feels like something is holding it back when i get get into the upper rpm range.. my buddy is running the canned street tune on sf3 and it's damn near as fast wtf? I'm a little confused at this as well. Also my truck at like 50-55mph doesn't know weather to **** or get off the pot act's really weird i don't like it at all. I don't know if there's a glitch in the software or what but i think i'm gonna call matt and see what he thinks. at this point i'm pretty disapointed with the tune seeing how my boys truck is pretty much stock with a 4" with the cat still on it and a canned tune almost beats me. depressing
sorry for jacking your tread |

Well i talked to Vivian she is going to go through the file that she sent me and maybe revise it. Ill get it back and see how it does im looking for mid 8's in the 1/8. I also talked to Innovative and they said there Extreme Race tune makes mid 8's. So if i cant get Vivians there or damn close i maybe going for some Innovative tuning.
