Pick me out a turbo!

Just replaced a ton of crap on my 6.0L and for the sake of it I decided to take apart the turbo to clean it. Well here is what I found......

Not sure how long its been like this or when I happened. It doesn't look fresh to me though.

Anyways if you were to go buy a new one..What would you get? The main use for this truck is towing a 11,000lb Gooseneck. So I don't need anything crazy.

Pretty badly chipped. Ive got one for sale, it's an upgrade from the original turbo but bolts in just like stock, it's a industrial injection turbo, flows 300 cfm more than stock. $800.

If I were in your shoes I would go with the powermax. It isnt anything crazy and will do what you need it to do and still be able to allow you to increase power later on if you wish to add larger injectors.

Well either way I go I want to keep the injectors stock. Because I just put on the Valve covers today. I am sick of working on this thing this week. The new standpipe on the passenger side sucked to install. But now I have a sweet new tool I made to get the two torx bolts out that are next to the heater box.

Either one of those turbos seem good to me. Not looking for crazy power upgrades. Just something better than stock. Im just really boggled on what the hell went through the turbo. I just probably leak down and compression test it before I fire it up with a new turbo on there.......

I should probably order some custom tunes for my SCT too then......$$$$$$$

PowerMax will be your best bet. $1100 and no core charge for a brand new turbo. The Industrial Injection turbo is not much bigger than stock, the PowerMax is a 63mm or a 64mm turbo and will lower your EGT's a good bit while towing. If you've got the cash, get the Batmowheel for it too, it will increase power, give you faster spoolup, and even lower EGT's.

I am also running the PowerMax with stock sticks. My Looney from Vivian at QuickTricks has been updated to match the PowerMax turbo and it runs great. I love the sound as well.
