FBD exhaust on.. next step....

So I put my 5" turbo back FBD kit on my truck tonight. And I must say I am not very impressed with it, yes it is the cheapest kit on the market. However I've installed several Magnaflow kits on trucks and they fit great.

Anyways, after beating the crap out of my rig on the way home from my shop.. I think I wanna put a turbo timer on it, what's everyones thoughts on that?

I want one, but don't want to pay for it. I just watch my edge until its down where I want. Usually doesn't take all that long.

When we redid my buddy's 6.0L, we added the Edge timer. Best feature we added. Shut the truck off. Lock the door and walk away. Works perfectly every time.

What was not impressing about the exhaust?

Yeah I might just wait for the Edge Insight I want to get..
Although like Brieldo said, it would be nice to just shut her down and walk away.. But I've heard of issues with the radio staying on?


Go n low- the FBD down pipe would not fit. Actually I ended up putting the Magnaflow one I had sitting in the shop on the truck. The pipe at first glance looked fairly similar, but upon closer examination. The bends are on a little bit different angles.
The clamps they supply are cheap and flimsy, any kind of torque and it actually starts to mushroom the metal clamp piece.

Don't get me wrong, it all fits nice in there now. And it sounds good.

Ya know, I suppose if you go into it knowing this.. Maybe it's worth it, I mean it is cheap... I think I paid $440 shipped, with the 5 to 6" tip...

For $400 more I can sell the 5" magnaflow turbo back, and it's all stainless, comes with nice hangers and clamps, and nice straight forward instructions.. And it comes with a muffler, and a delete pipe.

So I guess it's all preference..

dont the new edge cs and cts have a turbo timer feature. i thought i read somewhere they do

You are about the first out of thousands of people that have FBD exhausts I know of that have ever had a fitment complaint

well i know he was complaining about the u bolt clamps which all cheap exhaust systems use that type of clamps and magna flow uses band clamps but thats why there system is so expensive. my dad paid 600 for a 5" dpf back ridiculous. but yeah the u bolt style clamps u have to get them just tight enough. you over torque them down and u will squish the piping and have leaks. another thing i hate about those clamps is you never can get the exhaust back apart. i wanted to take the tail section off an just do over the axle dump but couldnt get it apart.
