Best Oil in a 6.0

I have heard many people say what they use and what they think is the best. But what truely is for your truck. On that note break it down even more to what synthetic is and what standard is...? Just wondering peoples thoughts?

I use Rotella T-6 5W40. It is not a "true" synthetic by a rigid definition of the word, but is sold as a synthetic oil (if that makes any sense).
I don't know much about oil and what is and isn't a "true" synthetic. For that you would have go on over to "bobistheoilguy."
I asked around and watched threads for what everyone was running, and went with it. Truck starts easily when cold in the winter, and is quieter than it was before.

I think oil like Redline is considered a true synthetic, but expensive as crappppppp. Im tryin Valvoline 5w-40 on my next oil change. A couple well respected guys prefer it so why not. There are many threads about oil. The main thing youre gunna get out of all of them, is change your oil on time. Thats the best thing you can do for your truck.

i ran T5 semi synthetic, and my truck loved it. I then switched to T6 "fulle synthetic" and it started to miss until it was up to operating oil temps. Its now fine after the truck got used to it. But im never going to use it again for that reason. I Have 4 gallons of Valvoline premium blue extreme waiting for the next change. I've also wanted to try Mobil 1 synthetic

I use Mobil 1 synthetic 5w40 which I find my injectors like better. I think it's going to be a personal preference, some 6oh's like the rotella or amsoil. I always buy my oil on sale to defer the cost of synthetics.

The 6.0 reacts best to true synthetics like Amsoil Schaeffers or redline

I wouldnt run Rotella anything in my lawn mower.

I use the T-6 as well with rev-x, but was wondering about the Mobil 5-40. I have never ran it and the old shop I had somethings done at uses it in all thier trucks. I like the T-6 seems to be good but I am goin to give the mobil 1 ago next time with rev-x. I run mobil one in all my other cars and SUV's.

Yes true synthetics like redline are optimal the shop said, but who wants to spend that much $$ on them. my .02$

Truer words were never spoken about the oil on these trucks. Regardless of what you use change it every 5k miles or at most 7500 miles unless you do oil analysis.

I run Amsoil 15w-40 and have done so since my first oil change and the truck runs and starts with no problem in the cold weather. I used to be a mobil one fan but after trying Amsoil it is all I run in everything from my truck and car to my harley davidson. Some people will say it sucks but it works great for me.
