As all will say SCT....I have one and I do get better mileage with it compared to stock. More power and more fun to drive too but thats when the mileage starts to go down, but it does do better when just driving normally especially on the highway. Let me be the first to say this in this thread, you need support along with the tuner, i.e. gauges/monitoring system to keep an eye on the motor

I looked at your info for the kit and was wanting to know if that applies for the '07 or that is a different model kit

EGT is important, and 6.0 specifics like FICM voltage, oil temp, water temp, and the difference between the two (DELTA), injection control pressure (ICP) are in my opinion the most vital parameters to monitor. Trans temp and boost gauges are cool to look at and have their place in monitoring, but unless you're towing heavy or laying a patch at every green light, a trans temp gauge is not that important and boost needs monitored more when/if you want to build big power.
Just a daily driver needs something like an Edge Insight or Scangauge II to monitor these things. You could probably get away with just a tuner and no gauges (but it is a gamble b/c you won't know if something is happening and won't be able to shut it down in time) if no extreme power levels are desired through tuning. Monitoring as said above is good for non-tuned trucks too b/c the same stuff can go wrong without being tuned. And finally, custom tunes can be tailored to your truck and what you want out of it and usually still be safe for what you have. My own opinion though. There is tons of info on the .org and most is very good info, especially for us 6.0 owners Last edited by ars5147; 08-09-2011 at 07:09 PM. |

Oh, and to answer your other question, SCT X3 with custom tunes

![]() With some gauges. I'm managing to get 15.5 mpg (35" Toyo M/T's) with my Srl tune and my foot is always on the floor.
