EGR QUESTION

i have a question for you gearheads...I have a 6.0 f250 and recently installed a looney tune from Vivian at quick tricks and she informed me that it turns the EGR valve off. what exactly does that mean? I had to have the EGR cleaned 3 years ago under warranty. Ive been thinking about doing an EGR delete. is that necessary if its turned off? can it still get dirty and require cleaning if its turned off? Obviously im not real sharp on the subject but im sure somebody on here can clear this up for me.
Thanks for the help! by the way...the looney tune is great

3 Years ago you had your EGR Valve cleaned. Not the EGR COOLER.
The valve can still be forced open due to the pressure of the turbo, so continue to plan on your pending egr COOLER delete.

I hate to cut in a post, but I have a question and this post sparked the question again. I had my oil cooler replaced and the EGR cooler deleted in the spring of 2011. My EGR valve is still in place. Does this affect in any way the performance of the truck? I am running SCT X3 with tunes from Vivian at Quick Tricks..with EGR signal ignored.

If you unplug the egr valve, you might have a fan issue. Leave the valve where it is and plugged in. There is nothing to be gained by removing it other than a nice hole cover engraved with some company name.
