Diamond Eye Exhaust?

Before I start this post... yes, I did a search. Couldn't find much.

So, I am in the market for an exhaust. I *am* going to put a stacker kit on evetually, but right now I don't have the money for it. I saw on quicktrickauto's website that they are selling the 4" turbo back stainless Diamond Eye exhaust for $380. That sounds like a smoking deal. But, I don't know much about Diamond Eye. I've heard great things about AFE and MBRP, and I have some personal experience with MBRP, they're sick. How does Diamond Eye compare? Welds, bends, hardware, sound, etc?

Thanks guys!

I put on the 409 stainless steel 4" turbo back offroad kit on my truck, the downpipe was a bit of a pain and did rub for a few wekks till I got it to sit just right, the rest of the install wasnt to bad, I had to make a cut on on pipe i believe other then that wasnt too bad. As for sounds, with the muffler on it was kinda quiet to be honest in my opinion but once i went straight pipe it sounds like any other 6 leaker with straight pipe. overall very satisfied with the product.

diamond eye is great, a cheaper version of prolly the same quality of mbrp. they come with true 4 inch down pipe and they are quite a pita to get up there but it just takes time. i messed up though, i bought diamond eye ss 409 and which is supposed to surface rust but i didnt do research before i bought and after one winter it looks AWFUL, so if i did it again i would go with aluminized. i got 4" ss 409 turbo back straight pipe no muff, no cat, and a 6" tip for 330 shipped. also got a free t shirt and hat. i got it from cobbs diesel performance last august but dont take my word for it because alot of people have been having trouble with there service

let me know if ya have any more questions, heres pics of the install

4" connecting to turbo looking ridiculously huge

bottom of down pipe, tight fit all around

Connecting mid pipe to down pipe

Tranny crossmember clearance

axle clearance

connect the two sections, this is where i had to cut piping because i have a reg cab, long bed. but even if you didnt have a reg cab still do the exhaust in two sections then connect them

finished

here is what it looks like now, moved the tip away from the body

*** these u bolt clamps are tough, 1. really easy to over tight 2. crush pipes and they will never seal good 3. take patience

the clamps are tricky and take time to get them to seal but thank god for diesel soot because it makes it easy to find where your leaking, then ya just play around with the clamp to get them to seal. these are the clamps all most all kits come with because the band clamps are expensive

hmmm... thoroughbred diesel has the alumized ones even cheaper... $291...

But I'll check Cobb's out as well. Looks like I'll go with Diamond Eye until I get my money for stacks.

Thanks for the heads-up, guys. It was a toss-up between the DE and Magnaflow systems, I think I'll save a few hundred bucks and put that towards my end-game goals.

Jake

I had a Diamond Eye 5" system put on a couple of weeks ago. I did straight pipe and love it. I also bought the 4" down pipe and the shop I went to could not get it on. I work all the time and haven't had time to try it or find another shop. I got mine for $339.00 on Ebay. It's a 5" no muffler and it sounds great hearing the turbo. My daughter said it sounds like a jet at idle and it does. Hope this helps, the quality of the aluminized is very good. It also spools up much quicker than stock, and power during passing is great!!!
