Plastic Intercooler pipe

I was wondering if there is a significant difference between the metal and plastic intercooler pipes on the intake side of a 6.0

My truck is a 2004 and has a plastic one, and i was going to get them powdercoated but now having a plastic one kind of shoots that idea down.

Also i was wondering if the plastic one would pop off easier under high boost situations?

It just looks kind of odd with one metal and one plastic

The plastic ones were replaced with the metal ones because of them blowing off.
