2003-2007 6.0L Coolant Filtration System ![]() i bought my exhaust and tuner from mkm. had great service with them so id like to buy from them again. anyone installed a mkm kit? any feedback. easy install ect... it might be a few weeks or month before i get around to doing it but im trying to get prepared. on a side note.. what do you guys think the coolant swap and filter would cost me in the end? money is crazy tight, well as most of you know its impossible to get a job. especially if your 17

man you can build your own for 60 bucks!
use the baldwin base and baldwin filter, some heater hose, some brass fittings and some ball valves. You can get the ball valves and fittings at lowes, heater hose, base and filter at napa my brother just built a kit for his duramax |

I just installed the Sinister Coolant Filter Kit last mo. It was really easy, 2 cuts to splice in the hoses, a couple of hose clamps, and bolt on the bracket. Takes maybe 15-20 min. As far as the the flush and switch to ELC coolant, that seems to be a hot/debated topic, but I would do it. Did mine at the same time as I put on the filter kit.

I bought the identical kit. I was very happy with it. Very good quality the coolant housing is very solid. Took 15 minutes. The only thing is make sure you have alot of towels down when you cut that bigger hose! Alot of coolant comes out. I did mine when i was doing my coolant swap that way when it leaked it was just water.
If you can, try and do both at the same time, and you wont make as big of a mess. |
