EGR DELETE HELP!!
Ok i understand what and how the egr system works on the 6.0 but i have some questions about deleting. Im going to get gauges soon for EOT AND ECT. If the delta temp is withing 15 should i not worry about it? My truck is and early 04 i think and i know i want to delete but what i dont understand is the whole SES light and limp modes. I dont want any of these things to happen and running edge juice and not custom tuned. didnt want to buy the SCT if not necessary. any help would be great. thanks

1. The 15°F difference determines the condition of your oil cooler, whether it's flowing as new or clogging up. Higher the difference between temps, the more it's clogged up.
2. General consensus says that '03-'04 6.0's have not thrown an engine light when removing the EGR system. |

I would recommend replacing oil cooler when doing egr delete.

Thanks for the help. Makes since to change it since I'm already working on it. Didn't want to spend the extra money if not needed. I'm going to get the gauges on first. It bothers me that I can't monitor temp. Hope it doesn't throw a light on lol my kinda luck

in 03-04 it won't but 05-07 it will: Easy FIX reconnect the EGR valve to the engine harness to prevent the light! All the PCM is looking for is position of the valve. On a 04 you won't have an issue stick in a coolant filter when your all done.

my 06 threw a egr low flow code when i did my egr delete with the valve stilll plugged in, i have a sct with gearhead tunes now, mat said he needs the egr plugged in for the tunes to work properly. But but the light doesnt come on with the tunes

How hard is it to do the egr delete yourself. I was thinking of doing it as a weekend project with my dads help. I'm no mechanic but I'm pretty knowledgeable with tools and the coolant filter will go on also. Just waiting till I get everything ordered to knock it all out at once
