How accurate is the new FICM update on CS and CTS?
I just downloaded and installed the new updates from Edge for my CTS and was excited about the FICM add. But when I put my CTS back in and read my numbers I was a little concerned. At ignition I read 48.5V then at start and idle it dropped to between 39-41 at a cold start not warmed up. What should I be reading at idle and how accurate does anyone think this reading to be? THanks.

I got the update showing 48-49 at idle or running down the road. Maybe checking it the old fashion way is required.

mine is the same, on cold start ups.
key on no start it reads 47.5. start and it drops to 39-40 but once warmed up it jumps back to 47. I think I might have a weak FICM on my hands. I think its pretty darn accurate. |

Yup both you guys have bad FICMs.

I'd spring for the tuning. It could be worth it depending on your current stragety.

I have one of the newer strategies. have to look on the insight for exact.
would this help bring my mileage back? I would love to get 20 again Been debating rolling back my PCM/TCM also, not sure about that yet. |

got a hold f swamps,
they told me to unhook the glow plug control module and see if it still drops. If it doesn't it is normal glow plug draw on the battery system. If it still drops then the FICM is shot. Has anyone heard of this, really makes sense to me because I have no codes thrown and the truck starts fine. i would really like to save 400 big ones if I can, my hat off the swamps for the help so far. |
