Custom Tuning EGTs

What are you guys seeing for EGTs with an SCT (either SRL, xstreet or similar) and a 4" exhaust?

Today I took my '03 for a quick spin to warm it up and when I got on it (after it was at 180 EOT) I can hit 1400 before I hit 60 MPH I backed out when it got to 1400 but it has me worried. That's with Matt's SRL

What could be causing these high EGTs? Dirt Air Filter? ?? And if theyre normal how the hell do you do a 1/4 pass without cooking the thing?


Oh and it's a 4" Diamond eye TB with no cat and a bullet style muffler...

It could be a dirty air filter. Also, tunes for stock head bolts all run hotter since they don't have the extra boost to cool it down.

It shouldn't be running that hot though.

1400* is nothing to worry about. I could see 1500-1600 with my SRL when i had stock injectors.

with my set up now I can hit 1800* in the 1/4. It is hot but its not going to hurt anything for the short time it is that high.

no problem. Anything for more than 1250 for 30secs or more would be a bad idea.
