Cleaned EGR & Pulled Muffler

I recently bought MBRP 4" w/o the CAT. Didn't sound much different than being CATless with the OEM exhaust. I took the extra piece of pipe and a band clamp and removed the resonator. I now have a straight pipe and it sounds different now. While I was working the truck I pulled the EGR to check it out, glad I did. The upper portion was 3/4 of the way plugged with soot material, the lower half was pretty clear. I cleaned it up withcarb cleaner and back in she went. Runs nie and sounds BADASS. Not obnoxious but robust!

good to hear. I am sure the build up is not only on the egr valve but also in the intake. Cleaning that out would be a good project to do on the weekend.

Not sure how to go about that part but am willing to learn. I scrappedsome of the carbon from the EGR mount and vacuumed it out, didn't seem to be to bad in there. When I bought the truck I started using fule additve (Diesel Kleen) and actually looked like the build-up was erroding but is speculation only. Would be interested in cleaning the rest of the intake though.
