Your gonna need some kind of device that can read the PCM on which calibration (stradegy) you have. SCT and some other brands will tell you what it is.
Ford would reflash the truck/car to try and resolve issues with problems that they were having with them, like poor mpg, VGT vane sticking, rerouting sensor control, ect, ect. It's like when you get updates for your PC , windows XP, XP pro, Vista, windows 7.
Now some times after a reflash (stradegy change), it does more harm than good, like worst mpg, inductive heating,Ficm killer, ect,ect. Sort of like your PC when Microsoft came out with Vista.
Bill at PHP figured out a way to revert back to the better stradegies that help out with power and mpg. You can poke around there forum to get a better idea of what's going on.
