Intake manifold

Have any of you added an intake manifold to your truck? I am shopping around for new performance parts an that is on the list. I am just wondering what type of increase did you notice and what brand would you recommend? Right now I'm looking at banks, afe, and cfm

There is no gain in HP/TQ, the intake manifold and ports in the heads are too restrictive to make any gain in power. The only benefit to the aftermarket elbows is that they have ports on them to use for a boost gauge or power adders like nitrous or water/meth.

Well that really isn't worth the $250 they cost.

The terms you are using are going to confuse people. The intake manifold is the larger U shaped part that covers the top of the motor. The intake elbow (as most refer to it) is on top the intake connecting the the cold side IC tube to the intake manifold.

It's your call most swap out one with the 1/8" port to get a better boost PSI reading at the manifold. It's not really a power adder of an upgrade but does help airflow.

No gain in MPG, like I said, the intake manifold and intake ports in the heads are too restrictive.
