Tuner Problems SCTx3 ??

Was running the STREET Tune and programmed in the LOONEY , I started to get down the road and had to gas it to merge into traffic , soon as trans shifted it started to Shudder Really Bad !!! I mean like going over potholes something terrible !!
I stopped and reprogrammed back to STOCK and trans shifted perfect again ....after about 50 miles I figured stock suxs so I put the Street Tune back on and it shifts OK Now still ...What was up with the LOONEY ?? I have ran it before without an issues .......is it because I went from Street to LOONEY without going back to stock first ??? I want to run the Looney but not if its gonna Trash my Transmission !!!
any Ideas what was going on ??

Hmmm... I have the same tunes as you and an 06. I programmed Street and ran it for a week or two then programmed directly to looney. No problems?? I seen a couple say after you program to run through all the gears at part, half and wot throttle to get the tranny to re-learn?

I am pretty sure that you should return to stock before loading another tune. Have done this many times with no problems

Hello Richard,

I hope you are doing well! You don't need to go back to stock to download a tune but you can. Sometimes, and not always, the transmission needs to learn. A good rule of thumb when installing a file, any file, but in particular, your performance tunes, from any tuner is to:

Go through the shift points two times for about a half mile. For example:
Shift to 1st gear and stop
Do first and second, stop
Do first, second and third, stop
Do this through all the gears 2x's.

After this you can punch it and won't have any problems. If you don't do this, it may take 24-48 hours for the transmission to learn but it will adapt. It doesn't always happen but if you go through the transmission learning process you would avoid it, if it were to happen, at that instant.

If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to call me.

Thanks & I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!
Vivian

What happens if you drive the truck normal and then tip into the throttle part way for the Trans to relearn? I really never seen this issue happen to the 6.0 diesels, I mostly see this happening to the 6.4 Trucks. I would recommend reloading the file and then try the relearn for the trans and see if that works, let me know. Thanks
