My truck had an EJP on it when I bought it. It made OK power but the defueling to keep the tranny alive was a major PITA to live with day to day. I just got tired of getting lurched front to back every single shift.
The tranny WAS NOT a happy camper. It never behaved the same one day to the next. Shift flare, gear hunting, and botched downshifts were regualar occurances.
Ever since I went with the SCT w/Innovative tunes, the trans has been 100% spot on. Never an issue. Its nice to have the motor making full power through the shifts. Not to mention how much more refined the shifting is.
Bottom line. There is NO comparision to be made to the SCT. SCT>All others. Always.
P.S. Another Edge issue I would have from time to time.... Once and a while the turbo would stop boosting out of the blue. Loss of boost and copius amounts of raw fuel out the tailpipe. Not fun.
"Fooling" these trucks to make power is not the thing to do.
