Turbo Timers ? Which One ??

I see that BD and a few others have Cooldown Timers for sale for around $ 150 - $250

BUT > I see quite a few on e-bay for other applications , mustangs ,exotics, bmw's, etc for about $25-$100
if all they do is time how long the vehicle runs ? why the big jump in prices for the diesels ? Are they configured differently ??
