When I had my Cummins, many guys simply removed the factory airbox, but left the rest of the intake in place (tube to the turbo, etc.) and placed a large conical air filter on the end. The theory was you really did not gain much by replacing the factory tube, the gains to be made were in the filter itself. A large oiled conical filter (like a pro guard 7) would give you 90% of the benefits of the AFE intake with about 20% of the price.

so...is that a popular mod on the 6.0?

not a whole lot of people change the intake on a 6.0L because the stock one flows enough air to support 500hp....

stick with stocker like raul said, ford got that right on the 6.0 lol. they flow really well, and offer very good filtration
