4" stainless Magnaflow
Ok I had a friend at Meineke install my 4" Magnaflow turbo back and ever since, there has been a minor but noticeable vibration at low rpm's. I went back the next day and he torqued all the bolts down but shortly after the vibration was back. Have any of you Magnaflow guys had this experience? I've been under the truck and under the hood but cannot isolate what might be causing this. It sounds like it is coming from the turbo area. I'm at a loss? My friend even tacked all the connections under the truck but with no luck.
Any help? Scott |

on a side note.....NEVER weld, even tack, anything on these trucks. i probably replace four PCM's a year due to this. the only way its safe to weld on these trucks is to disconnect the positive cable, and then EVERY ground wire on it. if one small ground is still attached there is a possibility of frying a module......not to harp or anything...but i thought it was worth mentioning.......Marc |

Cyclist I had the exact same problem which grew worse over time. I had the 4" magnaflow turbo back and eventually the vibration was getting on my nerves so I crawled under to look at any areas where it was close to hitting anything. I eventually noticed that the tubing was pretty much laying right on top of one of the bolts that connects the tranny crossmember to the frame. Conveniently enough there was a clamp right there so my buddy and I bought an exhaust hanger from the auto parts store, loosened the clamp and put it under the hanger, then pulled it away from the bolt and connected it to the crossmember. I Started it up and the vibration was gone. It's very possible that you have the same problem...so take a look.

Hey no problem Scott! I read that post and laughed through most of it knowing that you were probably going through the the same frustration that I was. My noise too sounded as if it was coming through the engine bay. Acutually I heard the sound more around the airbox area than anywhere else cuasing me to go nuts looking for anything and everything that was touching something in that area......but once I had my buddy push the exhaust off the bolt, the noise disappeared. If yours isn't touching or close to touching, I would be very surprised. Let me know what you found! Other than that, it's a great kit!
