Tuner Question

I know after reading through the forum that most of you prefer the SCT and it seems to work best with the 6.0. Well, I'm thinking of diving in and before I do, my question is, are most of you guys running a preprogrammed tune or a custom tune? Also, does anyone have any experience with the SCT Economizer? I'm not looking for lots of power. More for better mpg and reliability and longevity. I realize that some power will come as well and am fine with that. Thanks

Most of us run custom tuning. Not sure about the Economizer.

There's a lot of folks here running the SCT X3 programmer. Do to the ability to tune for the individual truck, modifications, and drivers preferences, almost all who run it have custom tunes for their rig. I'll be doing the same thing here soon. I have not seen much feedback on the SCT Econmizer, and from what I understand it cannot be custom tuned. If you're looking for mileage, and reliability the X3 is still a good choice. Mileage reports are best with the higher HP tunes, and keeping out of the throttle. That of course requires a little discipline.

I would talk to one of the Supporting Reps. here on your intentions , give them your Trucks Specs..and let them tune for your needs ..

ps , as stated the higher HP tunes give the best mileage , but they lie !!! it dosen't take a little dicipline to stay out of the throttle ....It takes ALOT !!

me and my buddy have the same truck . he runs the economizer and i am running innovative diesels extreme street file and i seem to be getting better milage . i'm not sure if this is just our trucks doing this but he doesnt like it .
