SCT Livewire or SCT X3 and Edge Insight

Any comments would be appreciated. I know you need gauges but if SCT Livewire does both tuning and give guages isn't that better way to go or not?

i vote for the X3 and the insight.. the livewire is very old and outdated.... if your interested i can give you a great deal on a package deal setup on the X3 with innovative tunes and the edge CS or CTS

Members complain that the Livewire is too bulky to mount in a good location.

I have the livewire and I love it. (and I even have the older version too) I made my own mount, you can choose anything you'd like, but I can't see a problem with it being "too bulky". I use it daily to monitor.

If you have the 6.0L engine you want the SCT device to tune with, as it tunes the tranny also, right? You need the SCT to get GOOD custom tunes, right?

If you want to monitor ECT, EOT, EGT and Boost and more (up to 6 PID's)you can do it with a Livewire, no need to go to a CS or CTS for monitoring when it's all right there in one unit, the livewire! I just don't get it. Why would you need anything other than the Livewire when it can do it all?

well depends.. is it a locked unit? if it is locked then you will have to spend 150 to get it unlocked and then more on tunes... the X3 does not come we pre loaded tunes... the package we have for 429.00 comes with 3 custom tunes..

Depending on how old the X-3 is, the original X-3's were capable of holding canned tunes and custom tunes.

It is model 3000 and unlocked? I don't really think I need a lot of tunes I really just looking for better fuel mileage. I only tow a hay wagon a few times a year and a two- horse bumper pull.
