evolution vs. livewire vs. trinity

I am looking for something to give me gauges and also programmer for my 03 6.0 Ex. All these have a large screen and appear to provide gauge info, and have built in programmer.

Looking for pros and cons for each. The Evolution advertises it can be used with a back up camera, which would have helped the last owner of my Ex quite a bit, still need to replace rear bumper. Otherwise, they appear very similar. All comments appreciated.

I would o with the livewire or the tsx.......I didnt like the diablosport tuning at all, bad shifting and it didnt help my heads out at all.

I assume you can use the livewire to view oil and coolant temps on a stock tuned PCM?

Either the Livewire or an Edge Insight. I've hear mixed reviews on the Livewire so do your research there.

pretty much looking at the evolution cs or cts, not the insight. want an actual programmer not just the gauges.

I have the Livewire with custom tunes.
1st off, SCT with custom tunes is THE best.
2nd Livewire does now include EOT & ECT in its PIDs with a new file.
Things I think suck about the Livewire
- too bulky
- the Gdam* wires connect on the bottom of the Livewire making it look like hell on the dash, not sure who the brainiac is that designed this thing but putting them on the back would make COMMON SENSE...
- does not power off/on with ignition, stupid.
- the box itself feels cheap.

If I could go back I would get a SCT hand held with custom tunes to load and invest the rest of my $ on a Edge CS or CTS for a monitor. Kinda choked as you can see....

i have a livewire and currently is thrown in my console. i have pillar gauges and use my livewire for coolant and oil temperatures but the livewire design SUCKS like said above. Your best bet is a combination
programer- do the sct x3- tune the truck then put the tuner at the house or glovebox
gauges- the edge cs or cts- if you buy the cs and sct x3 you will be spending just a hair more but a much better system.

most people on here have had great luck with sct. if i had to do it again i would do the X3 with custom tunes and bought the egde cts for monitoring. they also just came out with the fuel pressure sending unit for the edge also. plus they have the egt probe. then you can monitor everything you would ever need to watch on your 6.0

what about the SCT touchscreen extreme? It appears to load the same tunes as a SCT x3, and the large screen should provide similar data, right?

The price is actually less than an edge cts plus a sct x3.
