Coolant Filter??? Why??

I have seen many people list on there sig that they have a coolant filter. I was wondering why a filter would be used?

I also read that some have an additional oil filter. Is this because the filters that are used are not doing there job?

Thanks
Rob

The coolant filter is to remove the casting sand and other junk in the coolant do a coolant flush and install a ELC coolant.
The oil by-pass cleans the oil to 2 microns and the stock filter cleans to 20 microns with these injectors running in oil they like clean oil and Syn oil. Just start reading posts to learn about the 6.0 it will make your head

Thanks for the info. I have done the head studs and egr delete. I think the Oil by-pass is needed. The injectors are sensitive to the oil condition.

The coolant passageways in the stock oil cooler are prone to plugging up. It makes perfect sense to keep your coolant as free from partials as possible, so the addition of a filter will help remove possible contaminates from your coolant and possibly prolong the life of your oil cooler and water pump.

I will add the coolant filter to my list.
Is there a shop or business that sell the coolant filtration and oil by pass for the 6.0?

Thanks
