Which tunes

Sometimes, some weeks more than others a daily driver(always daily driver in the summer), Alot of time on the highway empty and/or loaded to up 1500lbs.

Not too concerned about the vendor...

Also do a lot of long distance light towing(4000lbs or so) up to 8 hours one way(and I don't stop till i run out of fuel)

Would I be better off to just get the light tow 80hp only or also get the 80hp daily driver.
Which would be better for cruising the highway empty?
I'm really looking for some possible fuel mileage gains.
Not here to race or blow a ton of smoke.

These are probably going to be PHP tunes, but tow versus daily driver tunes is really the question I guess.

Or I would be better with the 65hp tunes, I've always been in the school more hp, less pedal..

Thanks for any help.

For innovative diesel. His "Street" tune can tow up to 10,000lbs. Right now this is my daily driver. I am in the process of looking at getting Xstreet or something equal. Then he has Xtreme street tune, you can use that as a daily driver.

You should not run the tank low, it is not good for long injector life.

Some of the differences between a tow and street tune are probably tranny line pressure?? Maybe shift points. So technically it wouldn't hurt to run a tow tune all the time or vice versa given that you're under the recommend weight for that tune.

not sure on the exact differences.

You can run the tow tune as much as you want.

I have an 8,6xxlb 5th wheel dry with no load. Im sure it is pushing ~10,000 if I have a full load and all the tanks full. I will be trying "Street" and see how it does. When I do I will post a thread about it.

You should be...the tunes you use are only as good as the person doing the tuning

With that said... I bet you'd be happy with ID's Street tune for a DD, with light towing. Since I'm not looking for max power either I have my tuner loaded with ID's Street, AggTow, Trans Only.

I can tell you one thing...my truck never ran so good with the latest strat (VXCF9DA) and Eric's street tune. Smooth, powerful and my EGT's are way down!
