Just installed SCT extreme race

Just installed my extreme race tune, and i can honestly say im very impressed, it really throws you back in the seat. The only thing im unsure about is when your already moving and put it to the floor, it kinda bogs down for a second, then you can feel it shift down and take off. Any ideas what would make it bog down?

Same thing in mine. Noting bad at all. Your TQ is locked in 5th and the tranny has to shift down before to either 4th or 5th before you can really gain alot of speed.

With the x-race tune, the converter locks in 2nd gear. To make it down shift you have some options.

1- lay on the skinny pedal alot to make it downshift.

2- turn on the tow/haul button.

3- get off the skinny pedal, tap the brake pedal, get back on the skinny pedal with a little more pressure. When you tap the brake pedal, it unlocks the converter.

yep it's completely normal and like the ones above said it's because the torque converter is locked so that's the lag you feel. that's why it's called extreme race! shifting built for all out driving although some get used to it and become very good at driving and controling their trucks and shift points like lilpoohsaid in his 123. I run the extreme street which is similar hp wise but different transmission tuning.
bet that xrace makes it feel like a rocket ship.

The "bog" feeling that you described is what we call "lugging the motor". It's not good to lug the motor alot, this will excessive EGT's.

With the X-race If your willing to change you driving habits, it makes for a really good daily driver.
