EGR Delete Code
I put an egr delete kit on my truck and i need to get a tuner or something that will delete the code out my system so i can get emissions done. I heard there was a way but i was hoping for a little help finding something cause im having no luck myself. Thanks

I have been talking to a shop about doing the EGR delete and replacing the oil cooler, they said I would need to get a SCT turnner to clear the code.

That is what I understand. Best bang for your buck is to get an SCT with a custom tune to fix that code.

I also did EGR delete. I have SCT tuner with Eric's and Vivian's tunes. Eric's would turn off the CEL but Vivian's would not. Vivian said they had played around with the tunes and found that it sacrifices power when commanded to turn off CEL. I'm personally not sure but I ended up reinstalling EGR valve and cleared DTC codes and everything works fine now.

When I first did the delete my engine light came on right away too for the egr valve. What we did was just put the valve back in to the intake(helps too if the smog guy does a sight inspection) and plugged it back in and the engine light went off but you still might have a code for the egr flow not reading. I got those two codes on mine but both went away after I plugged the egr valve back in, one of my friends had the valve code go away but the flow code would show up if you did a scan but no engine light was on. You should still be able to smog it though. I have the SCT now for mine and it turns it all off but my buddies truck doesn't and he hasn't had any problems with his the last few years with emissions. Hope this helps

yeah im not throwing any check engine lights just getting the the low flow code when i bring up the codes on my edge. I figured that low flow would cause me to fail.

So you haven't had any problems with your truck going into limp mode without the programmer everything runs fine after just the delete??

On my 04 I plugged the EGR valve in while it is zip tied to the intake elbow, 30k miles and no codes or lights, do you still have the throttle valve? if yes remove the plate from it.

I have an 06 and my egr valve got tossed long time ago. I just got some of Vivian's tune and it does turn off the EGR and my light. The CEL is not disabled though and will still come on if something else happens.

No never had any problems of going to limp mode. None of my buddies either. I have heard of people saying stuff of a limp mode but we have never had that problem. My 2 friends I know for sure have over 50k each since doing the EGR delete and just leaving it in the intake and plugged in, never any issues other than if you hook up the scanner and scan for codes it will tell you of the EGR low flow code but no dash light. I have the SCT so mine is turned off and shows no codes but my friends don't have any tuners. Before I got the SCT I had the Edge w/attitude it didn't do any code searches or turn anything off so I had the same code as I mentioned earlier about my friends trucks.
