Why is my 6.0 a pig ?
I put on my new turbo and it runs alittle better but still does not run like it did new. I am waiting on my egr delete which I will do soon. I will check my egr valve to see if it is stuck open for now? this thing is a pig, the turbo spools up but the truck just does not seem to want to go .....kinda like one of those wanna be's racers in damn rice burners with the loud muffler ...lots of noise but slower than a snail
![]() fer instance... going up small inclines it will not hold speed , sometimes dropping from 70 down to 60ish and sometimes will drop down gear with cruise control set...if I go to pass I better have a running start too... what I am mostly concerened with is the job I am on now is due to be completed @ end of January and I will have to pull my 36' 5th wheel back home.....she ain't gonna do it the way it runs now ![]() what all can I check or replace to get this thing back where she should be ![]() could it be the FICM ? looking at a swampy's too anyone else been down this road ??? 125k miles , does not miss, use oil , etc... and exhaust is clean |

My 6.0 is kind of doing the same thing...I am getting the EGR system looked at first...so I will definitely stay tuned and see if anyone gives you any good ideas.

Also is the Turbo a stock replacement or an aftermarket.

'03 Style replacement turbo , was way down on power before the swap though , figured a new turbo would really wake it back up ,..... NOT !
haven't got a code reader ..... all new filters... |

What are you running for Boost Levels, 25-30 ish PSI at wide open Throttle.

it will put out 20+ just nailing it on flat ground , I have not really stood in it cause my oil cooler is getting plugged and she puked coolant once on me , have a new cooler just waiting on egr delete kit to do the change outs all at once , slapped new turbo on so I could recoup my core deposit ..

my 04 was acting sluggish. I found that the turbo sensor or whatever its spos to be called was plugged with soot. If I recall correctly, it sits on the passenger side of the intake and has a small vacumn line line leading to the sensor on the pass fender. I unplugged the hose, used a paper clip to ream the crud out and it woke the ol girl right up. Cheap easy thing to check.
