sct and new turbo

so i blew my turbo last week . i was really on it and puuff , it was gone . so now i am wondering if i should just go back to stock , i dont want to cuz , well all you sct users know why , its way to fun to give up . in saying that i dont wanna be buying a new turbo every 6 months either . i guess my question is , did my foot and tuning blow my turbo or was it a weak link that was gonna go eventually anyhow . the hot side turbine was tore up pretty bad and flopping around in the housing pretty good so it looks like its been like it for a bit .

Go ahead and upgrade to the PowerMax. It retails for just a little bit more than a turbo from Ford. About $1200. And get rid of the K&N, as that may have caused your turbo to be eaten up and eventually fail.

Get the powermax turbo.... A little better than a stock turbo. Also get the updated turbo oil drain line. Are you letting the egt's drop to 350 before you shut it down? If you run it good and shut her down at 500+, eventually you will coke up the oil in the turbo... Make sure you cool it off before you shut it off.
I have run eric's extreme street on my stock turbo for about 100k with no problems other than cleaning the vanes once. My head gaskets went, so I upgraded to the powermax just because. About the same price as the stock turbo and no core charge.

There is a place in Calgary and Edmonton that will upgrade your stocker if you want, NADP uses them for customer rebuilds.
